The fourth edition of these awards seeks projects and solutions that improve ";competitiveness and performance of companies, with a focus on environmental and social sustainability,"; says the BASF Group . These are initiatives the use of recycled and reusable materials; the recovery of resources through innovative processes in the value chain and initiatives that contribute to extending the useful life of products through recovery, resale or innovation and ecodesign. <h4 style="float: right; width: 50%; margin-left: 28px; padding: 0 28px; border-left: 2px solid #0095dd; font-size: 19px;"> The Awards recognize the initiative in circular economy of public institutions, large companies, SMEs, startups, the academic field and dissemination</h4> Platforms where users can share products or services can also compete; or initiatives that promote payment services for a product maintaining the property of the same for the later recovery of the means; as well as innovative processes that facilitate closed cycle production to maximize the use of resources and minimize environmental impact. Six categories have been established: Best public initiative; circular best practice in large companies; circular best practice in SMEs; Best circular start-up; best practice in academia and best practice in outreach. <a href="https://responsabilidadimas.org/emailings/invitaciones/BASF_EC2022/BasesBASF_EC2022.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The bases</a> are already available. Until June 28 is open the deadline for submitting applications. The jury will be made up of experts in business and technological innovation, development of training and sustainability programs from the institutional and academic spheres, as well as senior managers from <a href="https://techpress.es/noticias/basf-batio-record-ventas-espana-ano-pasado" target="_blank" rel="noopener">BASF</a> in Spain and the Club of Excellence in Sustainability , which organize these Awards together with EFE Verde as a media partner.<h2> The winners of 2021</h2> The jury chose among more than a hundred projects in the last edition, also with six categories. In the best public initiative, the award went to the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge , for the Catalog of Good Practices in Circular Economy that they developed. Grupo Calvo , for the Calvo Zero Waste initiative, won the Best Company Award. And the one for Best SME went to Too Good To Go , the app that fights against food waste in the world. Gravity-Wave won the award for the best startup for its project to achieve plastic-free seas, transforming these materials into valuable products. Marynes Rojas for her podcast in Spanish on Circular Design won the Dissemination Award last year. And the Academic World Award went to Tecnum Navarra for its Green Tecnum project, made up of students from the School of Engineering of the University of Navarra who are working to achieve a more sustainable campus.

The Awards organized by the BASF Group and the Sustainability Excellence Club, with the collaboration of EFE Verde, recognize projects and initiatives developed in Spain that contribute to the sustainability of the planet by following different circular business models, from the use of waste to the development of innovative processes that minimize the environmental impact.
